Starting point

The project began with a survey: the energy condition of this 1890 building was analysed as part of an individual refurbishment roadmap (iSFP).

A key weakness lay in the top of the building envelope. The roof structure showed increased transmission heat losses and a clear need for modernisation.

Based on this analysis, the roof refurbishment was prepared as the first concrete implementation step. EcoFuture Solutions supported the project from the energy assessment through funding strategy and application to technical supervision of the works and the final proof of use.

Measure delivered

From existing fabric to a modernised roof build-up.

The energy-efficient roof refurbishment reduces transmission heat losses through the top of the building envelope and is a central element of the long-term refurbishment strategy. Actual consumption is influenced by use, weather and further measures on the building.

Works carried out by the appointed contractor; specialist energy planning and supervision by EcoFuture Solutions.

  • Energy-efficient roof refurbishment
  • Roof insulation
  • New or adapted roof build-up
  • Substructure
  • Connection details
  • Flat roof areas
  • Roof drainage
  • Scaffolding / safe site access
  • Technical documentation

The wider energy roadmap

Modelled overall path per iSFP – rounded forecast after implementation of all planned measures; the modelled overall potential of all measures in the roadmap, not the result of the roof refurbishment shown here.

Baseline (iSFP)

Final energy consumption
approx. 200,000 kWh/a
Energy costs
approx. €27,000/a
CO₂ equivalent
approx. 50 kg/(m²a)
Primary energy demand
approx. 230 kWh/(m²a)

Modelled target state

Final energy consumption
approx. 30,000 kWh/a
Energy costs
approx. €7,400/a
CO₂ equivalent
approx. 14 kg/(m²a)
Primary energy demand
approx. 45 kWh/(m²a)

Funding strategy does not end with the application.

The decisive work begins where planning, delivery and evidence come together.
